Long, bright room with light wood-look flooring

Laminate Installation

Laminate gives you a wood look for less than real wood, and it stands up to everyday scuffs and chair traffic. We help you choose the board, prepare the floor and lay it flat and quiet in homes, condos and rentals across Toronto and the GTA.

Services We Provide

  • Help choosing the right board and AC rating for each room
  • Removal and disposal of the old floor
  • Subfloor levelling so the boards lie flat
  • Underlay for sound and moisture, including condo requirements
  • Floating installation, transitions and trim

What Laminate Does Well

A laminate board is a printed wood look on a dense core, sealed under a hard, clear wear surface. That surface resists scratches and dents, which makes laminate a practical choice for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and busy halls, especially when budget leads.

Check the AC rating as you compare boards: AC3 suits most homes and AC4 handles heavier traffic. Laminate isn't the floor for standing water, so for bathrooms, laundry rooms and damp basements we'll point you to vinyl plank. And it can't be refinished, so if you want real wood that lasts decades, compare engineered hardwood.

Our Approach

How a laminate job runs, from measure to clean-up.

Consultation

Step 1

We book a visit at a time that suits you, measure the rooms and check the floor for dips that laminate would show.

Select Material

Step 2

We go through boards, thicknesses and AC ratings with you, and the underlay that suits each room.

Select a Date

Step 3

With the rooms measured and the board chosen, we send a written, itemized estimate and pick a start date together.

Initiation

Step 4

The old floor comes up, the subfloor is levelled, the underlay goes down and the boards click into place, finished with transitions and trim.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does laminate installation cost in Toronto?

As a conservative 2026 planning range, laminate runs about $2–4 per sq ft for material and $4–8 per sq ft installed, below engineered hardwood's $8–18. Subfloor levelling adds $1–3 per sq ft where needed. We confirm your price in writing after measuring.

Can laminate handle water?

Most laminate resists spills you wipe up soon after, but not standing water at the seams. For bathrooms, laundry rooms and damp basements, vinyl plank is the safer choice. Our flooring comparison covers where each one holds up.

How long will the install take?

Most single rooms take about a day, and a 600–1,000 sq ft condo or main floor typically takes a few working days, plus any levelling.

Can laminate go in a condo?

Usually, with board approval and an acoustic underlay that meets the building's rules. Check those rules before choosing a product.

Will you lay laminate I bought myself?

Yes, after we've looked at it. We'll flag it before installation day if a board isn't right for the room.
