Vinyl Installation
Luxury vinyl plank looks like wood, shrugs off water and costs less than hardwood, which makes it the floor for basements, bathrooms, laundry rooms and rentals. We level the subfloor and lay it tight in homes across Toronto and the GTA.
Services We Provide
- Rigid-core vinyl supply, or install of flooring you've bought
- Removal and disposal of the old floor
- Subfloor levelling, the step that decides whether vinyl stays tight
- Underlay where the manufacturer allows it and your building requires it
- Careful cuts around tubs, cabinets and posts, plus trim

What Vinyl Plank Does Well
A vinyl plank is a printed wood look on a waterproof core, protected by a clear wear layer. The core isn't damaged by moisture the way wood is, so vinyl is the practical choice below grade, in wet rooms, and in busy homes with pets and kids on a budget.
Compare wear layers as you shop: thicker layers, around 20 mil, are commonly recommended for heavy traffic. For main living areas, especially in a home you may sell, engineered hardwood usually wins on feel, sound and resale. Our engineered hardwood vs. LVP guide goes room by room.
Our Approach
How a vinyl job runs, from measure to clean-up.
Consultation
Step 1We visit, measure, and check flatness and, on concrete, moisture, because rigid-core vinyl needs a flat base.
Select Material
Step 2We compare cores, wear layers and looks with you, and check whether the product allows the underlay your building needs.
Select a Date
Step 3With the rooms measured and the plank chosen, we send a written, itemized estimate and set a start date together.
Initiation
Step 4The old floor comes up, the subfloor is levelled and the planks lock into place, with careful perimeter cuts and trim in wet areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does vinyl plank installation cost in Toronto?
As a 2026 planning range, quality rigid-core LVP runs about $3–6 per sq ft for material and $5–10 per sq ft installed, below engineered hardwood's $8–18. A 600 sq ft basement is roughly $3,000–$6,000 installed, before prep and trim.
Is vinyl plank waterproof?
The planks are, but the floor isn't a sealed membrane. Water that runs under the edges or through seams can still affect the subfloor, so leaks should be dealt with quickly.
Is vinyl good for basements?
Yes. Its core isn't damaged by moisture the way wood is, which makes it one of the most practical choices for below-grade concrete in Toronto homes.
How long will the install take?
Most rooms take a day or two, depending on size and how much levelling the subfloor needs. We confirm the dates before the crew arrives.
Can vinyl plank go in a condo?
Usually, with board approval and an underlay that meets the building's acoustic rules. Check that the vinyl's warranty allows the underlay your building requires.
